Air pollution caused mainly by smoke and harmful gases is also a major factor involved in poor environmental health. Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) released by refrigerators, deep freezers, air-conditioners, etc. are constantly adding to the atmosphere. Besides, the smoke from motor vehicles and chimneys of factories also pollute the atmosphere to the extent that the ozone layer present at the top of our atmosphere has been damaged a lot. This layer is responsible for absorbing ultraviolet and other harmful sun-rays which are not suitable for our skin and damage it badly. Now because of the damaging of the ozone layer, these harmful rays are also pouring down on the earth causing a lot of health hazards in the human beings.
